Fixing the dot-like stains printed on the base of the paper (MC 853, MC 873, MC 883)
The following factors may cause dot-like stains on the base of the paper.
・ Toner or dirt has collected on the paper transfer path.
・ The document glass or document pressing plate of the scanner unit is dirty.
・ There are dents or dirt on the image drum.
・ There is dirt inside the image drum.
・ There are dents on the fuser unit.
・ The image drum is faulty.
1. Toner or dirt has collected on the paper transfer path
Make several test copies to remove the dirt.
2. The document glass or document pressing plate of the scanner unit is dirty
If dots appear only for copying or scanning, clean the document glass or document pressing plate.

3. There are dents or dirt on the image drum
If dots appear at an interval of about 94mm, there are dents or dirt on the green tube of the image drum.
Gently wipe the green tube of the image drum with a soft tissue paper.
If there are dents, replace the image drum.

4. There is dirt inside the image drum
If dots appear at an interval of about 40 mm, there is dirt inside the image drum.
Open and close the front cover, and try printing again.
If the problem still persists after you have opened and closed the front cover, replace the image drum.

5. There are dents on the fuser unit
If dots appear at an interval of about 143 mm, there are dents on the fuser unit.
Replace the fuser unit.

6. The image drum is damaged
If dots appear in a random way like the toner is spilled, the image drum is faulty.
Replace the image drum.
